Overview:
    In 3150, the future looked bleak indeed for the Lyran Commonwealth. Dozens of its worlds had
    been lost to its enemies, its leadership was failing and morale was at its lowest ebb.
    Knowing something had to stem the tide of their enemies, the engineers at Defiance
    Indistries sought to make a ?Mech that could withstand far more punishment than any other
    design, and yet still proved to be a credible offensive threat to those facing it. And thus
    the ZMB-1E Zombie was born.

Capabilities:
    Built around a massive type 300 compact fusion core made with extra armor around its core
    components, an armored compact gyro with armored hip and shoulder actuators and an armored
    small cockpit, the Zombie can take massive abuse. Its body and limbs possess almost the
    maximum load of light ferro-fibrous armor possible for its frame, while the head is
    protected by a thick skin of hardened armor plate that allow it to even be able to survive
    impacts from the most massive autocannons as long as the pilot is not unlucky. An additional
    bit of protection was added to the head in the form of a protective cowl that adds
    additional protection from impacts to the sides or rear of the head. It has been noted
    though that the cowl will likely interfere with the ejection system; possibly injuring the
    pilot should they activate the system. The Zombie is also mobile for its size; being able to
    make leaps up to 90 meters at a time. Despite the small cockpit and hardened armor, the
    machine is relatively easy to pilot, although most elite pilots tend to be so used to other
    machines that they often fight the intuitive nature of the controls.
    
    Offensively, while perhaps not as deadly as some other designs of its mass, it is capable of
    dishing out severe punishment to the unwary. Its primary armament is a pair of tried and
    true Clan-tech extended range particle cannons. When up close, its secondary weapons can
    come into play with a pair each of Clan tech extended range and heavy medium lasers backed
    by a singular medium pulse laser. All of these weapons are tied into an advanced tech
    targeting computer, ensuring its pilot hits their target. This targeting computer comes in
    extremely handy when using the secondary weapons array as the heavy lasers are inherently
    inaccurate, and the nature of their shared mounts with the extended range lasers make them
    inaccurate as well.
    
    Being designed for survivability, the Zombie is very rugged, requiring only half the
    maintenance of other machines. This has proven a boon to techs that have to work on it as
    that survivability has also made it difficult to access certain areas for repairs, and
    several of its subsystems use components that are difficult to make and acquire.

Deployment:
    Having just started coming off the production lines at Defiance less than a month ago, the
    precious few Zombies that have been built have been parceled out to the most elite units on
    the most dangerous assignments. Although not many are yet in the field, it is already
    garnering a reputation as a deadly opponent.
