Overview:
    The Clans' technological advantage over the Inner Sphere has been narrowed in the last few
    years, but it is by no means bridged. OmniMechs sporting weapons with greater range and
    punch than anything fielded by the Inner Sphere have been enough to take over a hundred
    worlds and topple well over fifty regiments.
    The Draconis Combine's quest to bridge this technological gap has not gone without results.
    One of these is Independence Weaponry's newest design, the Dark Phoenix, which is built to
    take on the Clan warriors at long range...and win.

Capabilities:
    The Dark Phoenix has been modeled after the Smoke Jaguars' Warhammer IIC, which carries twin
    extended range PPCs, three LRM 15 systems and an SRM 6. For long range firepower, the Dark
    Phoenix carries twin LRM 20s, giving it an Archer like appearance in that respect.
    Complementing this firepower and replacing it altogether at shorter ranges is a Lord's Light
    2 ER PPC in the right arm and a victory Drumbeat large pulse laser in the left. These two
    weapons and the internal structure design of the Dark Phoenix make the 'Mech's arms resemble
    those of a Warhammer. For point blank ranged combat, the Dark Phoenix carries a set of two
    Diverse Optics medium lasers, which must be imported from the Free Worlds League due to the
    Draconis Combines' lack of abundant facilities to make medium lasers of their own.
    Finally, to provide the opportunity to increase the accuracy of the Dark Phoenix's arsenal,
    a C3 Master Computer was installed, allowing lance mates equipped with C3 slave links to
    call in the staggering, long range firepower of this 'Mech as if it were only meters away.

Deployment:
    The Dark Phoenix, because of its complex internal structure design, will be a rare sight on
    the battlefield until well after the Clans' invasion resumes. Until that time, the 'Mechs
    will probably be issued to battalion and regimental command lances.

Variants:
    One variant of the Dark Phoenix, which will increase its firepower while allowing it to work
    within a C3 equipped lance, removes the large master computer and replaces it with a medium
    laser and heat sink, moves the medium laser from the head into the same arm and replaces it
    with a C3 slave in the head; and adds two medium lasers, one in each leg.
