Overview:
    Named after the castling maneuver in chess, the Ruku was envisioned to fill a necessary role
    during a time of increased militarism in the Combine.
    
    Although Luthien Armor Works has admitted this design was heavily inspired by the CLNT-2-3T
    Clint scout mech, the manufacturing giant continues to insist the Ruku does not infringe
    technologically or intellectually on the ubiquitous design.  Nearly five decades of
    litigation in four separate nations has done little to resolve the issue.

Capabilities:
    Although similar to the Clint, The RUK-1Qx was envisioned, at its very inception, in a
    vastly different role.  During preparations for the Combine's aggressive expansion, an
    inexpensive garrison mech was seen as necessary.  Both to protect important installations as
    well as fast deployment to deal with counter insurgency.

Deployment:
    Due to five decades of litigation, the design has yet to move beyond limited production.
    However, the Combine has been noticeably pleased by the moderate price point and
    demonstrated effectiveness of the design.  Particularly during deployment at Tsamma where a
    single militia lance crushed an insurrection featuring irregular infantry backed by
    improvised armor.

Variants:
    Because it is in limited production, due ongoing litigation, all variants have failed to
    move beyond prototyping.

Notable MechWarriors:
    Michio Kaku-- Believing he was deploying his lance simply to disperse rioters and
    malcontents protesting the Dragon, instead found his unit under indirect bombardment from
    improvised LRM Carriers, likely cobbled together by Davion insurrectionists.  Using their
    high mobility and augmented by their Guardian ECM suites, the lance located the improvised
    vehicles and utterly destroyed both them and their treacherous crews whilst suffering only
    superficial damage.  Collateral damage was also well within Combine Operational Standards.
