Variants:
    One of the secrets of the SLDF?s Royal units was the highly advanced OTT-7Jb2 model OstScout
    BattleMech. Taking the baseline Royal unit and ratcheting it up to 11, the Star League
    engineers mounted a Guardian ECM suite into the left torso opposite the Beagle Active Probe,
    and a TAG laser guidance system in the head to allow the unit to spot for artillery. In each
    arm, they installed a remote sensor dispenser system and an older style recon camera for
    times when the TAG system may prove a detriment. Additionally, knowing that a boost in speed
    is often helpful, a highly experimental supercharger was added to the engine. And to ensure
    that the scout would survive contact with the enemy at least long enough to escape, the
    frame was encased in 7 full tons of armor. Mass for these improvements was made available by
    replacing the standard fusion core with an extra light engine. Although expensive and
    vulnerable, the engine helped make this the premier scout of its time.
