    The armament and armor of the Assasin was altered to enable it to perform long duration
    guerrilla warfare style missions.

    The Assassin, once upgraded with an XL engine, endo steel internal structure and a switch to
    an all energy weapon load out, the speed and mobility allowed it to excel at hit and run
    tactics that forced it's opponents to devote far more tonnage to defense than they should

    The Assassin ASN-E variant was originally created by a Merc Company named Tzu's Fist who
    specialized in Guerrilla tactics.  Towards the end of a lucrative contract, they discovered
    a crashed Orion filled with Assassins at the bottom of a lake near their outpost, lost for
    decades.  They recovered them and claimed the hundred year old mechs and drop ship in a
    questionable claim of salvage.  Once their contract was up, they leveraged the Orion and
    sold the aerospace fighters to fund the conversions of the Assassins.

    The ASN-E is a variant of the standard Assassin.

Notable MechWarriors:
    Hector "Heck" Charles Bergamont the 14th.  Heck was the only son of a father who's family
    was a powerful family in long standing within House Davion going back 14 generations.  Not
    one to stand on his laurels, Heck took a family Grasshopper and fled, ultimately
    establishing his own Merc Company.  A student of Sun Tzu, Heck jumped at the chance to
    modify the Assassins into capable Guerrilla fighters.  His Assassin, The Grey Ghost was last
    seen being chased by 2 lances of heavy mechs he was leading away from his unit who were
    sucessfully evac'd off planet.
