================================================================================================
Overview:
Our blessed order was puzzled by the short development and testing time of NG-C3A design.
The combine fielded an assault mech with some of the most advanced technologies and
revolutionary targeting system within few months since the development of this technology.
Our efforts were futile, until coordinator himself lowered the security around the
development design. The works on NG-X1A prototype were started in 3036 but the project was
stopped by 3039 war, because the resources were relocated to rebuilding damaged units. Two
prototypes were completed and mothballed for later use, but later they served as base for
successful C3A model.
Capabilities:
NG-X1A possessed firepower that was previously considered to be stuff of legends from old
Star League. Three Shigunga missile launchers and Lord's Light PPC provided early Naginata
with the ability to crush the opposition with unceasing missile and lightning barrage. Some
mechs had massive weapons array, but it was Naginata that had heat sinks to use it without
fear of overheating. Armor can be considered standard for mech of this size and there are no
weapons for short range fighting, so the X1A wasn't meant for direct contact with the enemy.
Maybe this was one of the factors that later marked it as ideal for C3 master unit.
Deployment:
Both prototypes served as base for development and were refitted to NG-C3A model. We publish
these design specifications for their historical value.
*Aside from fluff, I browsed through TROs and stumbled upon Naginata. I tried to improve it
(I wasn't successful, it's really good), but than I realized how easy it is to turn it to
level 1 design. Don't expect much from it, it's a downgrade, but I think for this tech it
isn't bad*

This one is awesome in every which way:
Your fluff is wonderful! You've totally made sense! In the light of the Dabuko-Mauler development, you could've even been braver and fluffed a complete, if limited, production run, but it is totally workable as is.
The design sticks to the fluff and to the original form as given in 3055. I like that (see my review of the Zeus as far as that is a criterion for me).
And finally: the design is excellent! This totally makes any of the other assaults of that era cry, as long as combat is kept at 5+ hexes! Hm, range 6 would be sheer beauty....
Thanks for this one!

In 3025 its awesome!
You have unparalleled longrange firepower and will suffer only minor heatbuildup! You armor is heavy as well!
Shure: keep some shortrange bodyguards near you but if you find yourself inmidst of a raging battle you´ve done something wrong!
Keep you distance and wack down anything that dares trying to close!

This is good for people who dont use the C3 gear, but still want a nice support boat for their lances.
While the weapons load has a minimum range, the fact that a target has to wade through a PPC and a total of 45 LRMs, Im not banking much on the target being in any kind of condition for a fight.

For Lvl1 this is a siege machine, probably the best.
Things will get dicey once someone tries to move under your LRM and PPC min ranges but there WILL be Jenners en masse ready to defend the commander sitting in this mech, so that isn't a bad thing at all.

For a level 1 design, this downgrade kicks some serious @$$. Good job. Armor is decent and the firepower is definetely impressive. Good endurance with it's heat capacity and the ammo is adequete (spelling?) if not average. If the DCMS had a bunch of these earlier in the war, I might even think that therir condition prior to the clan invasion would be even better! I just really love this mech.
Personal change I would make, if I ever got my hands on one of these, would be to replace one LRM 15 with a 10 rack and some more ammo. Personal preference.
