Overview:
    Designed as an attempt to make what is in effect an oversized space marine, the Euphrates
    was designed for one purpose only: to make physical contact with, and forced entry into,
    enemy dropships. Unfortunately, enemy aerospace fighters can easily destroy the 'mechs while
    in transit, and few 'mech pilots enjoy being confined to such a limited and extremely
    dangerous role.

Capabilities:
    Mounting a mixed array of laser weaponry, the Euphrates is almost inexcusably underpowered
    compared to the fighters it is expected to face while traveling to its target. Though it
    carries as much armor as possible, the fact remains that a light 'mech can only support so
    much protection.

Deployment:
    The only remaining examples of the Euphrates are stored in battle museums scattered around
    the Inner Sphere. The Euprates program was considered by all to be a monumental failure
    whose only saving grace was the decision to employ only standard technology, keeping the
    wasted money to a minimum.
