Overview:
    The GUN-2ERD Gunslinger is, more than anything else, a fascinating look into the mindset of
    the Draconis March. A joint Combine/FedCom design, the Gunslinger has always been considered
    slightly less than mediocre. Although its range and firepower are good, the 'Mech's
    idiosyncrasies have always been much hated; these especially include the leg mounted pulse
    lasers and the sub-optimal jumping distance. The GUN-2ERD is a modification to the
    Gunslinger design which originated in the Draconis March, where it is still most prevalent.
    Its single purpose seems to be to differentiate Gunslingers in the Federated Suns from those
    in the Combine. There are two reasons for this; one is to surprise Kuritan MechWarriors who
    think they know the Gunslinger's capabilities. The second, caused by the March's hatred for
    the Combine, is simply to make the GUN-2ERD different from its Kuritan counterpart. That it
    also fixes the many small annoyances of the Gunslinger design seems almost secondary to
    MechWarriors and techs alike.

Capabilities:
    The GUN-2ERD removes the Gunslinger's leg mounted medium pulse lasers, and replaces them
    with longer ranged standard medium lasers. Most importantly, these lasers have been moved
    from the 'Mechs leg to its torso. The 2ERD uses the tonnage gained from the pulse lasers'
    removal to increase the Gunslinger's jump range and add more ammunition to the Gunslinger's
    Gauss Rifles. The Gauss rifles themselves remain unchanged, and still provide the majority
    of the Gunslinger's firepower. The last modification is slightly heavier armor, although it
    is still not the chassis' theoretical maximum.

Deployment:
    GUN-2ERD Gunslingers exist only in the units of the Draconis March, with the exception of
    several at the coreward edge of the Crucis March.
