Overview:
    The Spirit Hawk is a new Blood Spirit design inspired by the classic Star League era Phoenix
    Hawk PHX-1.  In October 3055 a Blood Spirit mechwarrior with an interest in antiquities won
    a Trial of Possession against a Wolf mechwarrior for the possession of a trove of Rasalhague
    Battlemechs captured by the Wolves during the initial invasion.  As neither Clan considered
    the outdated 'mechs to be a crucial resource, the Trial was settled by single combat.
    
    
    
    The Blood Spirits became considerably more interested in the Battlemechs once it was
    determined that several of the captured Battlemechs, specificially a Phoenix Hawk, Locust,
    Wolverine, Archer, Battlemaster, and a Dervish, dated back to the Star League era and had in
    fact at one point been part of the SLDF.  Due to the Spirits' reverence for anything
    connected with Aleksandr Kerensky they restored the 'mechs to fighting trim, ordered the
    scientist caste to carry out extensive research on the histories of the designs, and built a
    museum on Strana Mechty to display the machines.  Additionally, Blood Spirit mechwarriors
    tested the machines on the proving grounds, and were especially impressed with the
    capabilities of the nimble yet sturdy Phoenix Hawk.
    
    
    
    Always short of resources, the Blood Spirits decided these Star League era 'mechs could
    provide models for a new generation of cost-efficient Blood Spirit 'mechs.  The tradition
    minded warriors were especially eager to pilot designs made in the same vein as those
    piloted by the honored warriors of the SLDF.  The Blood Spirits also determined to make
    their designs as close as possible to the original SLDF designs, unlike the IIC class which
    often differed significantly from the original design.  The first example of this new class,
    the Spirit Hawk, entered active service in 3060.

Capabilities:
    The Spirit Hawk is very close to the original Phoenix Hawk in capabilities, although it is
    somewhat faster and carries slightly less armor.  The Spirits found that the 'mech needed
    the speed increase in order to use the tactics practiced by the traditional Phoenix Hawk
    against clan battletechnology.  Like the PHX-1, the Spirit  Hawk suffers from some heat
    problems, but the Blood Spirit pilots have mastered the tactics of movement and fire which
    made the original Phoenix Hawk deadly.  The original design,s machine guns were also
    removed.

Deployment:
    Clan Blood Spirit currently deploys 10 Spirit Hawks.  The Wolves are eager to capture the
    rights to manufacture the design, but have been unable to spare the warriors to fight the
    necessary trials due to their committments in the Inner Sphere.
