Overview:
    The Carcajou (an Old terran name for the Wolverine) was designed as the flagship Omnimech of
    Clan Wolverine, debuting a century before Operation HOMECOMING. Although showing its age by
    the time of the Invasion, it still stacks up well compared to many of its younger peers.
    Boasting 30.5 tons of pod space, it is a very flexible platform, beloved by commanders as
    much as its pilots. Although a frontline Omni, the Wolverines did not use all the weight
    saving technology available, as the Carcajou mounts standard armor, although its structure
    is Endo-Steel and it mounts an expensive XL engine. Capable of moving at 86.4km at a run, it
    keeps pace with the modern Battleline.
    
    The mech was designated 'Gawaine' by SEAR forces, based on the increasing firepower of the
    prime as it closes, similar to how its Arthurian namesake grew more powerful as the sun
    rose.

Capabilities:
    The Prime configuration is intended to serve as the pointman of a Star, and its gear
    reflects that role. Its damage potential increases with every step. Starting from the UAC/10
    at medium range, the triple Medium Pulse Lasers kick on next, followed by the SRM 6
    Launchers enhanced with Artemis. At 60 meters or less, the three ER Small Lasers kick on - a
    surprising amount of damage for someone not expecting it. One ton for each SRM launcher and
    3 tons for the UAC keep the Carcajou in the fight for most forms of Clan warfare, both duels
    and the Wolverines preferred *styish*. 2 extra heat sinks help, but the Prime can still
    exceed its heat capacity quickly if its mechwarrior is careless. An Active Probe helps
    prevent ambushes.

Deployment:
    Being their flagship Omni, manufacturing has exclusively remained with the Wolverines
    throught the Gawaine's lifespan. Its age, however, ensures that some examples are in every
    Clan's touman - mostly taken as isorla, but the Wolverine's allies - especially the Blood
    Spirits, Snow Ravens, and Coyotes - have acquired a number of the chassis through trade.
