Overview:
An all-energy variation of the Warhammer chassis, the 9H is the combination of the 9A and
8K. Using the Lyran light engine and endo-composite skeleton with Kuritan weaponry, it holds
its own in the modern environment with raw force and endurance rather than mission
specialization. Although initially intended for Lyran and Kuritans, the prospect of
lucrative license fees means that it has been expanded to any buyer in the inner sphere.
With the Mariks, Davions, and Liaos desperate for both new mechs and replacements for lost
Warhammers, the 9H is being produced in growing numbers across the sphere.
Capabilities:
The base model and form of the 9S was augmented with an endo-composite skeleton. Dropping
three heat sinks and the SRM and associated tech, enough weight is freed to mount the dual
Heavy PPCs of the 8K, and a backup laser array of 5 ER mediums, with two rear-mounted ER
smalls to discourage flankers. The lack of non-energy weapons makes Blue Shield particle
dampers and laser-reflective armor particularly dangerous: doctrine against these threats
calls to retreat to water sources to allow unhindered alpha strikes. or adopt ambush
tactics.
Deployment:
The 8D model has seen heavy deployment against Clans Wolf, Jade Falcon, and Ghost Bears,
fitting its original deployment, and has often humiliated enemy totem mechs on the field.
Meanwhile, it has proven very effective against other inner sphere mechs, as the pitch of
combat results in many ammo bins running dry.
Variants:
So far, only a handful of field record have emerged, usually using an XL engine upgrade to
add more heat sinks.
