Overview:
    The story of Promethean Armouries' variants of the Firestarter started much like how they
    started making Hunchbacks. Initially they made kits for field modding the rear-facing flamer
    into a forward configuration. The kits proved popular, and PA took on subcontracts to
    supplement Firestarter parts production and support for affiliated companies (Coventry and
    Defiance) which justified expanding their mass production facilities on Loxley. PA further
    expanded production to make entire machines up to and including their own variants as part
    of the license agreement with Coventry. Thus, the FS9-Q was born.
    
    During the design process, emphasis was placed on the scouting capabilities of the -Q while
    preserving the machine's raison d’être; starting fires. Superior capability came at a
    premium and the -Q was nearly double the price of any of the -S models. PA rolled with that
    as part of their marketing campaign, leaning into the perception of Promethean Armouries as
    an up-market manufacturer and pitching the -Q as having the usefulness of two scout mechs
    with the operating costs of one.

Capabilities:
    The FS9-Q2 is largely identical to the -Q in terms of performance, but most of the advanced
    electronics are built in-house. This includes the only significant changes, the inclusion of
    a C3 slave and an XL gyro.

Variants:
    The -Q2 was conceived of to serve as Promethean Armouries' first mech to include mostly
    their own electronics.
    
    Sister company Hrafnagaldr Intelligent Systems Institute (but presented to the public as
    just, 'Hrafnagaldr') was established for research and production of advanced battlemech
    electronics on Ravensbourne as a joint project born of the positive relations between the
    Irongate Grenadiers and the Lost Caws. The Irongate Grenadiers were the elite mercenary
    company founded by Conrad Clausewitz after he left the Lyran military but before he
    inherited the mantle of Ravensbourne Specialist Engineering CEO. The Lost Caws were a
    mysterious mercenary outfit specialising in reconnaissance and electronic warfare. The two
    companies forged a strong relationship during a campaign on the periphery and founded the
    research institute for their best and brightest to collaborate on research.
