Overview:
The success of its Victor design led HiIdCo Interplanetary to develop a larger version of
that BattleMech for city assaults and defense, either standing alone or as part of a lance.
That 'Mech was the Pillager. Built during the Reunification War, the Pillager enjoyed great
success with the SLDF and helped turn the tide of that conflict in the Star League's favor.
The Pillager is the largest BattleMech ever constructed by HiIdCo. The destruction of the
facilities that made its advanced systems kept the Pillager out of production from the end
of the Second Succession War, but the decoding of the Gray Death memory core provided
HiIdCo's engineers with the knowledge their predecessors had lost. HiIdCo Interplanetary
recently restarted production of the Pillager at its plant on St. Ives.
Capabilities:
Built on one of the largest chassis ever designed in the Inner Sphere, the Pillager presents
an intimidating sight. The new Vlar 300 XL engine gives the Pillager the same top speed as
the Atlas but at half the weight, allowing for the installation of heavier weapons and
armor. The Pillager's main weapons are its two Gauss rifles, a large laser and four medium
lasers. The Pillager's nineteen tons of armor give it excellent protection. Fourteen double
heat sinks keep the modern-day Pillager cool--indeed, it is one of the coolest running
'Mechs on the battlefield. The Pillager is also equipped with jump jets that allow it to
leap up to ninety meters.
The Pillager has a long and colorful combat history, including action in the
Reunification War, the Amaris Civil War, and the Succession Wars. According to records of
those conflicts, enemy forces tended to flee from the mere sight of approaching Pillagers.
Deployment:
HiIdCo has already completed four production runs of the Pillager and has begun a fifth. The
biggest customer so far has been the St. Ives Compact Military. The St. Ives government has
announced plans to sell the Pillager to mercenary units in the near future.

Very impressiv! Two gauss rifles give it a tremendous knock out punch and with that 24 shots per barrel it has good endurance. Full armor, JJ´s and lasers are a good addition to that. The only thing i can complain about is the standard large laser: The ER version would be a good assistance at long range and make use of all the DHS´s.

On its own the Pillager is a pretty decent mech, but compared to the other Inner Sphere 100 tonners in the same Technical Readout the Pillager falls a bit short. Why field the Pillager when you can field a Devastator or Thunderhawk (both of which are significantly better in my opinion)? It's definitely not one of crappy Inner Sphere 100 ton designs, but not one of the best either.

Probably the weakest of the line of multiple-gauss 100 tonners. It has nothing for long range other than the 2 gausses; for some reason the large laser is standard. 16 rounds is not a lot for a slow assault mech. The firing arcs are restricted by placing the gausses in the torso; any critical hit in the torso would be a disaster. The backup weapons are fine, but do not make up for the extra gauss rifle of the Thunder Hawk, or the PPC's of the Devastator.

Another top heavy gauss packin machine that dominates the IS assault line up of the late 3050s era.
This one is slightly more agile then its other counterparts thanks to its JJ and still packs a wallop with 2 Gauss rifles. The Large should have being upgraded to an ERL anyway. This is a top of line machine anyway and there are enough dhs on this thing.

Very dangerous 'mech, although I prefer the Devastator personally. The Large Laser should be upgraded to an ER Large Laser; it has the heat sinks to handle the extra heat. I'm not quite sure why they didn't do that on a top of the line assault machine like this one.
