Overview:
Technicron Industries, in the in their rampant pursuit of progress would begin the design
process on a new variant of Awesome. Intending to build off the success of the AWS-11H the
AWS-12M was intended to include clan-grade weaponry. However, by this point relations with
Clan Seafox had deteriorated to the point that Clan Seafox was now actively trying to
prevent the acquisition of advanced Clan Technologies by the FWL. Technicron in turn would
try to circumvent this in a number of different ways, through utilizing third party
companies to making deals with corporations and powers outside of FWL space. These efforts
would bear some fruit, and Technicron would be able to secure a small (if unreliable) flow
of Clan ER-PPC 's for use. Due to the lack of surplus Clan ER-PPC's (and hence why you are
not getting an IS AWS-C) the design team would decide to invest all the freed tonnage into
making the Mech as tough as possible.
To achieve this the AWS-12M would replace the three heavy PPC's with three Clan-Spec ER
PPC's. The main armament would be supplemented by a small x-pulse laser installed in the
head. A Standard Fusion Engine would be utilized along with a Compact Gyro. For defense the
AWS-12M would be sheathed in 15.5 tons of standard armor. While much like the TDR-1SC the
AWS-12M would utilize both and Angel ECM and an (laser) AMS system, allowing the mech to
"de-streak" missiles, if necessary, before knocking them out of the sky. Additionally, the
team behind the 12M would Identify vulnerable locations on the mech to be re-enforced with
additional protection. 25 Domestically produced Clan-Tech double heat sinks would be
provided to keep the mech cool while firing all its weapons while providing some support for
the laser AMS system or dealing with damage to the engine. When the AWS-12M appeared for
sale in 3155 attached to it was the slogan ?This isn?t an anchor, this is the anchor.?
