Overview:
    Created to be an achor unitvfor most battle lances by D&K Creation Studios, the Valus is one
    of four 'mechs made by the company in thanks to it helping to found a new mercenary company
    "Sequere Nos". Of particular note is like the rest of its multi-weight bracket cohort is
    that is it built using both standard Inner Sphere technology like most other D&K 'mechs, but
    that it is also mounting a standard fusion engine for maximum hardiness in battle.

Capabilities:
    Created to be a hardy fusion of Inner Sphere and Clan technologies, the Valus VLS-05 was
    made with the idea that doctrinally it will be part of the main line of battle for major
    engagements and thus will need to take much more of a beating and keep fighting even after
    because of it. Because of this, while the majority of the tehcnology on board is IS
    standard, a Clanner ER PPC and targeting computer are swapped from the standard IS PPC with
    capacitor and targeting computer. To add to the design's hardiness, the armor is swapped out
    with eleven tons of heavy ferro fibrous, and the endo-steel structure swapped to a
    reinforced kind to allow the design to just keep walking forward. To make room, if only
    tonnage wise, for these changes the left arm medium pulse lasers are swapped with standard
    inner sphere grade medium lasers while the head mounted small pulse laser is swapped to a
    micro pulse laser to fulfill the same role of infantry deterrance at a lower tonnage cost.
    
    Furthermore, its electronics package on board was boosted, now sporting an IS grade Angel
    ECM suite in the central torso, while the RISC APDS of the 04 is now moved to the right side
    torso alongside its  ammunition, now down to a single ton in CASE II protected bins.
    
    Helping to make room for all these changes is the removal of two double heatsinks, which
    while allowing the machine to run hot,still does a good job of keeping it cool running in
    almost all combat situations.
    
    This particular Valus is notable because it was designed with the help of a Solahma member
    of the Snow Ravens Warrior Caste, who, in their own words, wanted a machine meant to fight
    like a spheroid. A machine who could be a grunt's best friend and would be willing to fight
    until it couldn't. A machine that could see the threats of Pirates or Great Houses or other
    Clans and keep marching on anyway. One that will find itself in a great many terrible
    situations as befitting of war and do its job anyway. Because it will be sent out again, and
    again, and again, and again. For what seems like forever.

Variants:
    A minor refit package typically used by those who have their weapons broken in the heat of
    conflict, the VLS-05r is a common replacement package that merely swaps the Clan grade ERPPC
    with a snub nosed PPC to allow for better knife fighting at the cost of range and the
    expensive clan grade weapon.
