Overview:
    Based on the MAD-4X developed by Ronin Incorporated, the MAD-RoSM was developed specifically
    for the Scarlet Meridian straight from production, rather than being a refit. This Marauder
    was part of a deal between Ronin Inc. and the Meridian in the early 3090s for examples of
    some of the rare technology in their possession to give Ronin Incorporated a competative
    edge in the market through reverse engineering and incorporating this technology into future
    products. What the Scarlet Meridian would get in turn would be a fully developed production
    model Endo-Steel Marauder chassis, making the mech less reliant on expensive and fragile XL
    engines for upgrades to weapon systems and armor, as well as a few assembled mechs for their
    for their mechbays.
    
    It was not lost on the Ronin Inc. engineering team nor the Meridian about how much this deal
    resembled the development cycle of the Marauder II. Captain Motana reportedly admitted to
    the Scarlet Meridian being "...closet Clanners," over drinks with the design team's chief
    engineer. The chief engineer noted that the Captain was most likely being sarcastic and was
    very inebriated.

Capabilities:
    The MAD-RoSM has capabilities very similar to the MAD-4X, in that it breaks common
    convention with most Marauder variants. Taking a cue from the 4X, the twin SRM-6 units were
    passed on as quad-linked Holly 3-Tube MML systems that now occupy the dorsal hardpoint that
    the traditional autocannon would. This gives it more of a "flat faced" profile, making the
    MAD-RoSM resemble a tusked animal with its hunched stature and arm posture, where it gets
    it's nickname, the 'Mastodon.' The linked MML systems allows the Mastodon to fire a variety
    of different munitions for different mission profiles, although this is traditionally a mix
    of conventional LRMs and SRMs with an extra ammunition feed for specialized munitions.
    
    This flexibility allows it some leeway to specialize in its operational profile of a heavy
    cavalry and close fire support unit with the twin VSP lasers in the arm mounts. The VSP
    lasers, which were almost definitely a technology Ronin had appropriated from their deal
    with the Meridian, were more heat efficient and had the capability to do almost as much
    damage as the 4X's binary lasers, and were much more accurate, making it easier to land
    effective fire on target whilst jumping or firing through dense terrain. Landing both VSP
    lasers can ablate nearly a whole three tons of armor from the target, from which the
    Mastodon can load SRMs to exploit weaknesses.
    
    With its flexible missile system, overlapping range brackets, and jump jets, the Mastodon
    can manuever into ranges that most disadvantage the enemy, fighting in a way that resembles
    a heavier, tougher, and more aggressive Catapult.
    
    'Verdict' is the name given to it by Meridian acquisitions officers.
