Overview:
A mixed-tech design made by relatively new firm Republic Engineering with the backing of
Clan elements within the Republic of the Sphere, the Blackwell OmniMech is intended for use
by elite MechWarriors within the Republic military. While primarily kitted as a frontline
brawler thanks to generous OmniPod space and maxed-out armor, the design has been adapted
into a variety of roles.
Prior to the activation of the Fortress Republic, the Federated Suns successfully negotiated
for a select few of their manufacturers to gain access to the design so it could be produced
for the AFFS. Thus the 'Mech would outlive the Republic it was made to serve.

Capabilities:
The 65-ton BKW-3-O is built on a RPE EC Model O-31 Endo-Composite chassis, which supports
the 'Mech's powerplant, protection, and armament. Said powerplant is a VOX ClanTech
260-rated extralight fusion engine, providing the 'Mech a top speed of 64 km/h in addition
to energizing whatever weapons it has equipped. Armor is maxed out for the chassis with 11
tons of Aldis Heavy Clan Ferro-Fibrous plating, ensuring the 'Mech can take plenty of
punishment. It also makes sure the pilot benefits from the armor by moving the cockpit to be
within the center torso. Electronics are enhanced with Clantech, with comms and
targeting/trackig being provided by TransComm Alpha and Angst Accuracy units respectively.
Finally, the chassis by default comes with 10 Clan double heat sinks.
The Prime configuration consists of a GM Nova-10 UAC/10 in the right torso, a Coventry
Starfire-C LRM 10 launcher linked into an Artemis IV FCS in the left torso, an ExoStar
Pinnacle Clantech ER Large Laser in the right hand as a detachable handgun-like mount, and
two Diverse Optics Type 5PC Micro Pulse Lasers in both arms. The LRM launcher and Ultra
Autocannon both have two tons of ammunition, all stored with CASE in the left torso. Two
additional double heat sinks are also added to ensure waste heat remains at acceptable
levels.
