The downgrade of the pulse laser to a standard one to free up a ton is a good idea but an additional heat sink would have been much better.
Instead they wasted this ton only to get 9 points of armor.
Still it has the same capabilities and problems as the -R4L. |

THis looks more like what the Lyrans wanted their Hollander to be.
I still suffers from heat problems, though. Granted the gauss rifle runs amazingly cool for the damage it inflicts, when the ammo is gone, this mech is forced to rely on the ER large for ranged attack and defense. One shot of the ER laser is a bit more than the heat sinks on this model can handle. Granted heat build up will be minor, but in a protracted fight, could evenutally force this mech to shut down in the middle of a battle. Not an enviable prospect.
I think the medium laser was added on to give the pilot a cooler-running option for in close targets more than anything else.
Probably not the BEST offering from House Liao, but not the worst by far.
This makes a pretty good brawler, with a strong minor in sniping. Have a couple coolant trucks handy, especially if you use lots of these mechs in your TO&E. |

I like this mech a little more than the 4L, but still it has the same issues of most mechs. Too much heat and not enough heat sinks, and Marik doesn't have a dodge for why they're cheaping out they're warriors either.
They've not faught in years. Still has the Sniper's weapons load to kill things with though so its an alright mech. |

This is a true headhunter and unlike the Hollander it can stand up to larger 'mechs and it's supposed to have a 5/8/0 movement profile at this weight, unlike the Hollander. |
