Overview:
    The Crusader 5K MOD "Calliope" is a BattleMech that was converted during the middle stages
    of the FedCom civil war by St. Ives MechWorx & Overhaul. Originally a 5K base model that had
    received significant battle damage, it was acquired by the Neon Knights Mercenary Company as
    salvage from an engagement with the DCMS and turned over to MW&O for overhaul and
    customization.

Capabilities:
    Functioning similar to the 5K model, the Calliope sees a significant change in internal
    components. Much of its fusion engine was remanned to clan specifications by utilizing
    examples stripped from similarly tonned clan omnimechs. The torso mounted jumpjets salvaged
    from a Lyran 3L variant were installed to assist in mobility, while the armor kit was taken
    from salvaged clanspec ferro fibrous.
    
    Its weapons compliment remains similar to the original while receiving an upgrade. The
    Shigunga MRM 30s in the arms received repairs, but the ammunition bins were relocated
    entirely to the left torso, both simplifying and complicating the mech's ammunition
    transfer. A Shigunga MRM 10 on a mechanized pintle mount was installed above the head, with
    the feed mechanisms and trigger systems installed down in the center torso. All of the
    lasers in the torsos were stripped out, with only two salvage medium pulse lasers installed
    to the arms. Finally a salvaged targeting computer was slotted into the center torso to
    enable the on-board weapons systems to be brought to bear in a more efficient manner.

Deployment:
    The Crusader 5K MOD "Calliope" is a unique mech and has only been deployed with the Neon
    Knights Mercenary Company.
