Overview:
    The GNN-3R "Gunner" is a Heavy BattleMech debuted by the Federated Commonwealth in 3058
    specially for the Great Refusal. It and its first variants were rushed ahead into mass
    production early in the year to ensure a good amount of units were ready for deployment in
    Operation BULLDOG and Operation SERPENT. The intent behind the base 3R variant was to be the
    jack-of-all-trades of the family: a well armored, decently fast, and well-armed brawler. The
    resounding success of the Great Refusal, specifically this design's contributions to it,
    would lead to the more widespread adoption by FedCom and later its once again separated
    component states.

Capabilities:
    The 65-ton GNN-3R is built on a StarFrame 9 standard chassis, which supports a Nissan 325 XL
    Engine and 11 tons of StarGuard 3056 Ferro-Fibrous plating. 4 Jump Jets provide a modest
    leap, and 12 double heat sinks keep the 'Mech as cool as possible. Electronics consist of an
    Achernar Electronics HICS-11 communications system and a GME HiTrak 2 targeting/tracking
    system.
    
    The long-range firepower of the Gunner 3R is provided by a right arm-mounted GM Whirlwind II
    Ultra AC/5 with an ample 5 tons of CASE-protected ammunition in the right torso, while at
    close range five Defiance C9M ER Medium Lasers blast apart any weakpoints opened by the
    autocannon. The head of the 'Mech also has a Johnston Minigun Machine Gun, which has 2 tons
    of ammo in the left torso that are also protected by CASE.
    
    All components are given easy-to access maintenance hatches, initially installed to make up
    for rushed production but kept due to the system's popularity with mechanics. The arms are
    also specifically designed to allow the Gunner's arm weapons to fire rearward if needed
    using a mechanism similar to the Marauder.
    
    Due to the rush to production, some corners were cut on the ejection system to fit the
    minigun, leading to a risk of complications if the MechWarrior is forced to eject.
    
    DESIGN QUIRKS: Easy to Maintain, Hyper-Extending Actuators, Difficult Ejection

Deployment:
    The trial by fire for the Gunner was the Great Refusal, participating in the informal
    Annihilation of Clan Smoke Jaguar.
