Overview:
    Built by Blackstone Battlemechs on Inarcs the Basilisk BSK-2A would be one of the two
    designs to come out of the Advanced Quad Program. It was envisioned alongside its sister,
    the Gorgon, as part of a new wave of mechs set to bail out the sinking ship that was the
    Lyran State. While the Gorgon would be jealously guarded for exclusive use by the Lyran
    Commonwealth the BSK-2A in an ironic twist of fate would, due to the financial hardship
    suffered by intended consumer, and the need for sustainable profit by the company end up in
    the hands of individuals and powers outside the definitive control of the Lyran
    Commonwealth. It would rapidly become associated with various mercenary commands, and even
    find good representation in the gladiatorial combat zones of Solaris, much to the chagrin of
    those who had envisioned a different destiny for it.

Capabilities:
    The Basilisk BSK-2A would by built around a LFE engine letting the quad design hit speeds of
    85/ kh normally. This would be enhanced with a MASC. A XL gyro would also be employed to
    free up tonnage for the machine. Each leg would be fitted with re-engineered clan grade
    talons. It's armament would also include a turret mounted snub-nose ppc, a head mounted
    clan-grade er medium laser, and a clan grade SRM 6 supported by 2 tons of CASE II protected
    ammo located in the left torso. 10 double heatsinks would be utilized for cooling, while the
    whole package would be generously encased in 15 tons of impact-resistant armor (210 pips).
