Overview:
In 3035 Horch Vehicles on Abagnar introduced a special 30 ton tractor for towed artillery.
Capabilities:
The Rhinoceros Artillery Tractor can not only pull artillery but also support it:
8 tons of ammo can be carried and delivered to its gun carriage by means of a loading hoist
(more a kind of conveyor belt) [represented by the rear mounted 1 ton cargo compartment]
that, once connected [takes 1 turn without movement], can load 0,5 tons of ammo per 10
seconds [0,5 tons per 1 turn without movement, if a ton of ammo consists of an uneven number
of shots: round down]. If the tractor moves while connected the hoist automatically
disconnects and retracts.
A small infantry compartment hold the crew to set up the artillery.
For protection the Rhinoceros is wrapped into 4.5 tons of armor, carries 2 vehicular grenade
launchers (mostly filled with anti-infantry and/or smoke grenades) and a single turret
mounted machinegun.
Deployment:
Mostly used by units stationed on Abagnar.
Variants:
Later variants drop the rear mounted grenade launchers for a CASE.
