Overview:
    Designed in response to the failures of the War of 3039, the Stadtpanzer was a project of
    the AFFC to provide under supplied garrisons with a simple, yet effective urban support
    combat vehicle.

Capabilities:
    Engineered around a burst-fire 105 mm Federated Autocannon AC/10 mounted in a full-range
    turret, the Stadtpanzer was developed to have the punch to make raiders weary and the range
    to use it effectively.  The chief engineer wanted to avoid the minimum range of lighter
    autocannons given the vehicle's role as an urban unit but had to trade speed and terrain
    capability for the mass to carry this 12 ton cannon.  As such, a PowerTech HighLift 70 ICE
    was chosen to power the vehicle with an eight wheeled suspension system to support the
    vehicle's 30 ton mass.  This engine and suspension system provides a max cross-country speed
    of 54 kph and an urban speed of 64.8 kph on paved surfaces.  While exceedingly slow for its
    mass compared to other combat units, the speed is more than adequate as a urban support
    vehicle, easily keeping up with infantry forces.  To protect the vehicle from enemy fire,
    the Stadtpanzer is fitted with 4.5 tons of Phoenix Cuirass standard armor plating, the newly
    rediscovered cellular ammunition storage equipment, and a M-70 "Bushmaster II" 20mm machine
    gun.  Finally, to enhance it's role as a urban support vehicle, the Stadtpanzer has a 1 ton
    infantry bay that allows it to carry and deploy a squad of infantry soldiers.  With the use
    of readily available components and a price tag of just under 500k per vehicle, the
    Stadtpanzer can be depolyed in adequate numbers to empower any planetary garrison.

Variants:
    An up armored variant replaces the infantry bay with an extra ton of armor, increasing the
    armor thickness by almost 23% to 5.5 tons.
