Overview:
The Aeolos was built as the ultimate Omni-QuadVee; a massive 100 ton monster fitted with
maximum armor to ensure battlefield endurance. Equipped with an extra light type 300 fusion
core and tracks for its vehicle mode, it can only move at a top speed of 54 kph, so it will
not win any races, but this also provides it the largest amount of pod space of any QuadVee
design at 31 tons.
Capabilities:
With standard internal structure and armor, the Aeolos has as much room as possible with
which to make use of its 31 tons of pod space.
In its Prime configuration, the ‘Mech mounts an extended-range PPC, three extended-range
medium lasers and a Type 40 Hyper-Assault Gauss Rifle fitted with 5 tons of ammo. One extra
double heat sink has also been fitted to help control the heat from these weapons.
In Alternate Configuration A, the Aeolos mounts a single extended-range PPC supported by two
Type 20 Hyper-Assault Gauss Rifles fed by 5 tons of ammunition.
A missile boat configuration, Alternate Configuration B carries four long-range missile
launchers each capable of launching 15 missiles at a time and fitted with Artemis IV fire
control systems. These are fed by 4 tons of ammunition in each side torso protected by
advanced CASE systems. Backing these pods is a single centrally mounted large pulse laser.
Alternate Configuration C is a close-in combatant, with five medium pulse lasers and a type
20 LB autocannon fed by 3 tons of munitions. A singular extended-range PPC provides hard
hitting long-range firepower.
In the final configuration seen thus far in the field, Alternate Configuration D is an
artillery support platform, mounting an Arrow IV artillery system fed by three tons of
missiles. For defense up close, two large pulse lasers and a Streak-6 rack of short-range
missiles fed by a ton of ammunition has also been fitted to the ‘Mech.
Deployment:
Given its large size and slow speed, the Aeolos is only being provided to heavier assault
units.
