Overview:
The first Omnimech project led by Tyrlon United, the design document borrowed liberally from
the schematics of the Gùn.
The Houndshark is a 20 ton speed demon with a Ceres Motors 140 engine and a predetermined
space intended for, though not required to contain, a supercharger.
The Houndshark features several pieces of proprietary clan Sea Fox technology, including the
Endo Steel chassis, integrated clan ECM and several weapon option packages, the shrewd
purchase negotiations of which caused delay after delay;
With T.U. purchase agents earning both a measure of respect and ire of the clan merchants
for meticulously reviewing the fine print for months before agreeing to a long term
contract.
With stealth plate developed by Ceres Heavy Metals, the Houndshark is intended to be a low
profile, stealthy, versatile, affordable, high speed scout, knife fighter or fire support
Omnimech.
The right side weapon mount features a modular advanced coolant housing that can enclose a
variety of primary weapons.
The coolant housing can also be relocated to an arm via retractable high-temperature hoses.
This arrangement of the coolant system and the exposed hoses have unfortunately proven to
have a fatal flaw, namely that the hoses and their valves are susceptible to catastrophic
damage which can impede the entire coolant system of the mech in a worst case scenario.
In keeping with its primary scout role, and for noncombat utility, the Houndshark also has a
high lumen spotlight mounted on the left torso, right next to the left arm.
With this arrangement, and the advanced articulated joints manufactured by T.U. foundries,
houndsharks are capable of exceptional finesse useful for basebuilding and many other odd
jobs.
Unfortunately, in order the keep weight down, the legs nimble and joints flexible, the leg
actuators are largely exposed and only armored enough to protect against brush and other
light obstructions.
T.U. has deemed this to be an unavoidable design setback, adequately mitigated by the thin
proportions and often high speed of the mechs legs.
The Houndshark is hoped to be a persistent menace to the foes of the Capellan Confederation.
