Overview:
Desiring a relatively cheap but effective tank for militia/garrison units, but yet something
that also pulled at the patriotic heartstrings of their citizens, the First Prince urged the
engineers at various military factories to “look to history to build the future”. From
this directive was born the Tiger II medium tank; which has since become known also as the
Panther.
Capabilities:
The Tiger II is effectively a modern take on its predecessor, the Tiger, only lighter,
faster, more heavily armored and just as heavily armed, but with a more versatile weapons
package. The engineers accomplished these feats through use of a fuel cell power core in
place of the old ICE, and heavy ferro-fibrous armored plating in place of the original’s
standard armored plate. The short-range missile launcher and machine guns remain the same,
but the standard type 10 autocannon has been replaced with a Type 10 dual-purpose autocannon
which boasts longer range, and the ability to use cluster munitions. All munitions for these
weapons are stored in ammo storage bays protected by CASE to provide further protection for
the crew of the tank.
Deployment:
The Tiger II has been deployed to various militia and garrison units throughout the
Federated Suns, and consideration has also been given to providing the tanks to some
front-line units.
