Variants:
Built on the hull of the Striker light tank, and the Striker infantry fighting vehicle has
broadened the abilities of this armored vehicle. Removing the missile launchers from the
stealth armor model of the Striker light tank frees up enough mass to replace them with a
turret that contains a light type 2 autocannon, fed by two tons of munitions that can be
tailored to most combat requirements, a smaller four-pack launcher of short-range missiles
fed by a single ton of ammunition and a machine gun fed by a half ton of ammo. The remaining
mass goes into a 3 ton infantry compartment to allow the vehicle to transport a full platoon
of foot infantry.
It has been said that if this update proves itself out, more models will be created, fitted
out for other additional roles as needed. These include battlefield ambulance, recon
vehicle, combat engineering vehicle, command vehicle, direct fire support and mortar
carrier. Currently, it has become well-respected amount among foot soldiers that they are
pressing for this model to be officially designated as the Dragoon; named after the
horse-mounted soldiers of ancient Earth that would dismount to fight on foot when meeting
their enemies on the battlefield.
(Note: this model is a direct result of realizing just how much the BTech Striker light tank
resembles (IMO) the real-life M1126 Stryker infantry carrier vehicle/apc of the US military,
at least from certain angles. This model is a translation of the M1296 Dragoon model of the
Stryker into BTech stats.)
