Overview:
The quintessential fast moving, paper armored VTOL strike platform, the FNC-35A "Finch 35"
is best known for having the highest casualty rate and production-to-loss ratio than any
other vehicle in the Blackshield Company's arsenal. Designed in parallel to the Beetle 35,
the Finch was intended to be the aerial equivalent of its wheeled cousin but failed due to
the inherent limitations of VTOL platforms. Instead, the end result was a respectfully
armed, impressively fast and suicidally unarmored vehicle whose involvement in the
battlefield resembled the missiles it launched more than the launcher it was.

Nevertheless, the FNC-35 has seen extensive use over the decades in a variety of light fire
support roles. Easily able to harass enemy backline targets and equally able to outrun the
majority of threats, most pilots rarely risk more than a single attack before immediately
rushing themselves away from danger again. Admittedly, most of the design team insists that
this is the intended use of the vehicle but that is rarely seen as a reasonable excuse by
    the FNC-35's pilots.

In 3053, almost two decades after its production, the FNC-35A "Finch 35" ceased production
and was slated for replacement by newer (and safer) designs. A fact that has barely affected
its presence on the battlefield at the cheap cost, easy assembly and small size has ensured
that there's a large enough stockpile of Finch 35s to last for many years to come, much to
the dismay of the poor men and women who are assigned to operate them.

Capabilities:
The FNC-35A "Finch 35" does one thing and only that; it hits fast. With decent firepower and
the ability to move out of danger as quickly as it came, a small group of them can quickly
overwhelm the backlines of any hostile force and strike at key targets before any response
can be mustered. By the time help arrives, the FNC-35A will have already left to strike at
    the next target.

Deployment:
The FNC-35A "Finch 35" is a cheap, expendable strike platform. Fielding 3 of them is less
than 1000 BV and can bring all sorts of chaos against an unprepared enemy. That said, one
should never rely on the Finch 35 alone as it will, inevitably, get shot down sooner or
later. As such, they are best utilized as a pseudo missile that has a chance of surviving to
    be used again.

Variants:
The FNC-35 "Finch 35" has two variants.

The first is the FNC-35A "Finch 35" which was described above.

The second is the FNC-35T "Finch 35" which is a troop transport variant that replaces the
SRM6 with an SRM4 with one ton of ammo and a one ton infantry compartment. Ironically, this
design never went out of production and has a much better reputation that its vehicle of
origin, entirely due to the different role and deployment.

Notable MechWarriors:
None; even if a vehicle crew did attain fame, it would only be in the territories of the
Blackshield Company and thus of no significance to the major powers.
