Overview:
    The RFL-3N-II was introduced in 2720 as a refit of the venerable Kallon
    Industries RFL-3N, using cutting-edge technology available to the
    SLDF. Valuable details of the design were uncovered with the discovery
    of an intact SLDF Royal Divisions maintenance guide.
    
    The precious Garret communication and tracking systems were intact,
    along with the engine and gyroscope. Reverse engineering the internal
    structure met with uneven success, but a functional, if troublesome,
    80-ton chassis provided an ample platform for upgrade. The resulting
    Rifleman II is more of an upsized 3N than a true Rifleman II of the golden
    age, but it retains the same weapon and ammo feed patterns.

Capabilities:
    The Rifleman II remains an outstanding anti-aircraft platform. Its focus
    on fire support puts heavy, long-range firepower at the forefront. The
    3N’s medium autocannon were replaced with a pair of Kallon Industries
    Imperator-B 80mm cannon. By sharing a range profile with the Magna
    Mk. III Large Lasers, target acquisition solutions are simplified. The
    increased heat generated by the larger autocannon is offset by the
    addition of 6 heat sinks. A pair of standard Magna Mk II Medium Lasers
    round out its firepower. Although lightly armored for a Battlemech of its
    size, the addition of 3 tons of Kallon Royalstar armor better protects the
    Rifleman’s vulnerable legs, head and torso.
    
    The Pitban 240 engine is hard-pressed to power such a large machine,
    lowering the top speed to 54kph, and the leg assembly requires down
    time that takes the Battlemech out of duty for extended periods.
    
    The Rifleman II has the following quirks: Anti-Aircraft Targeting,
    Improved Communications, Improved Targeting (Long), Searchlight, Poor Performance, Weak Legs

Deployment:
    A unique design, it has only seen limited action with the Green Dragons
    mercenary company. As Capt. MacRhee’s personal Battlemech, it is
    deployed in defense of operating bases from which the technical support
    company keeps the Green Dragons in fighting trim.

Variants:
    As of 3037, now Colonel MacRhee as resolved the Poor Performance and Weak Legs Quirks
    through refit

Notable MechWarriors:
    Cornelius "Kooter" MacRhee - The commander of the Green Dragons Mercenary's Technical
    Support Company (as of 3037 Support Regiment), Kooter was previously a mechwarrior with the
    Oberon Irregulars, a successful mercenary unit that got it's start in the spinward
    periphery. The commander of the company disappeared in Lyran space in 3020 along with the
    unit's jumpship and dropship.
    Finding himself dispossessed as his Warhammer disappeared with Colonel Oberon, he turned
    down a job offer from the NAIS because 'it'll be a cold day in hell before I become a
    federat" Kooter fell in with the Green Dragons, bringing his expertise in trade for first
    pick of salvage.
