The CN9-D with .... even more speed.
This speed combined with the increased close combat damage is deadly but i think a Centurion isn´t the right mech for such a mission profile: Its weaponry will place it in a medium range unit. |

The D3 Cent should remain as an experimental machine only, because it's weapons are ill-suited for close range brawling and it's armor lacks the ability to keep this safe in hand to hand brawl with most of it's peers ( = those who can add med. laser batteries, SRMs and other stuff to physical assault). Even better at scout hunting, but it should be careful around heavy weapons carriers. If there is an area where this would shine then it would be a role of fast reaction unit against conventional forces (tanks, BAs). |

A good brawler. A bit weird in my opinion for the weapons choice. The minimum range on the LRMs means your not going to fire as often as you think you might. The thinner armour makes it imperative for you to close quickly though.
I'm not sold on two tons of LRM ammo in this particular case since its a medium mech. |

The CN9-D upgraded with the new Davion TSM that is immune to the smoke that fries up the version the capellans "stole". A nice piece of work when it heats up, it can then keep up with a lot of light mechs and devastate them. |

For some reason, I half expect to find this thing in the TO&E of some Capellan unit, because of the TSM. It looks more like a testbed for the TSMs than an actuall battling unit. Still, the weapons load will let this mech inflict damage at just about any range. The LBX will let the mech either pound targets with the solid shots, or grind armor away with the cluster rounds. The clusers will also make short work of unarmored infantry, and even smack around elementals. Id like the medium lasers a bit better if the both faced front. |
