The old Star League Wyvern. Better armored than its later -6N 3025-"downgrade" and equipped with CASE. This is one of the old designes that has only some minor high-tech incorporated and sure would get serious problems if forced to fight in an 3050+ environment.

Around 3050s the Wyvern needs to stay in cities and broken terrain, because the LRMs are no longer sufficient to keep the enemy at bay. It's still an effective city-fighter and for it's size it can kick some serious opposition, but avoid AC/20s, gauss guns and the other high damage toys unless you can trust your mobility to save your skin. Chose the battlefield well, and this thing will shine... or glow with heat if you overtax the heat sinks. |

Strickly average adn run of the mill. I've never had much thought of using them knowing that most days in the city (its best field) it'll get smoked by a panther.
Personally that makes it a bad mech in my mind. Its got a few things going for it but a Large Laser has never really scared anyone in any fight. You need a PPC or Guass Rifle or AC 20 to intimidate someone.
Inferior to the 9N which you can also choose in this time period as well.
Still if its all you can find and your going into a city its about average |

Designed as a city fighter, and excells at doing it. The LL don't need to be an ER cause your gonna be close in anyways, so why barf up the extra heat? Switching to 10 DHS instead of 12 SHS would allow adding a couple of ERMLs to the firepower here, or upgrade the SRM to a streak and add a laser. |

A fairly well built mech. This thing can do a little bit of everything. Best for use in urban fights, but of limited value in open field battles. Its jump capabilites and speed will let this mech nearly literally dissappear into a town, then pop up and backstab a target. |
