A boost to the longrange firepower that was payd for with the ability to defend itself at shorter ranges. The refit would be an easy one though. Techs put a lot of work into some 3050 upgrades by reworking them with ES but this one would have needed it. |

A downgrade actually. Of course that the Artemis improved the LRM accuracy, but the loss of two medium lasers hurt it too much. Now it's something like a low tech bro to the Apollo. If you can provide it with bodyguards then it can do it's work with ease, but woe to any commander who allows the enemy close on this one. At short range it's toothless. This machine is highly reliant on it's unit. I would recommend to field it on company level, but I would prefer the WTH-1 model if only a lance enters the field, especially if fast units and large map is in play. |

I rate this as significantly below average. It simply has no flexibility. The original's three medium lasers were good armament for a 'mech of this size and it let the Whitworth operate as an effective close-support machine and defend itself against faster machines which try to flank it. If I want a light LRM boat carrying Artemis I'll buy a tank. I want my 'mechs to be able to face the enemy up close. |

Not really much to say here. In some ways a step back from the original but in some ways a leap forward. the ARtemis help the LRM's improve and thats great. Because they added more to the mech than the three Meds causing heavy overheating.
Use it in the same role as the original. Rather than hinder, the lack of the lasers helps the design. Discouraging the player to drop in close. Armour is still quite poor |

Light and inexpensive missile support. Keep it near slower medium mechs for best results as they'll cover it well.
Useful if you can't get a request in for Archers or that ilk.
The heavy armour guaranties that it'll take a few rounds of abuse before you really need to worry about it. |
