Overview:
The Sentinel, a Star League-era design secretly supplied by ComStar to the Draconis Combine
in the 3030s, fought its first battle in centuries during the Kurita counterthrust at the
Davion planet Exeter during the War of 3039. Along with the Crab, the Sentinel played a
major role in the Combine's destruction of vast areas of the planet. The appearance of the
Star League design confused and frightened the Davion MechWarriors, who had not been trained
to fight these 'Mechs from the past. Some experts argue that the 'Mech's effect on enemy
morale alone turned the tide in at least three battles fought during that war.
Unlike the Com Guards' Sentinels, which incorporate a Streak short-range missile system
into their weapons array, House Kurita's Sentinels are equipped with the common Marklin Mini
SRM-2 launcher. Some Kurita MechWarriors have complained about the Marklin, but given its
solid record in combat, the complaints likely arise more from Kurita distaste for using
"foreign" weapons system produced by the Magistracy of Canopus than from genuine weaknesses
in performance.

Same as the -3L with a little better shortrange firepower but still not avarage i think. Swap the SRM for a second medium laser and a ton of armor and i‘ll give it a 2.5 or 3.

Slightly better than the 3L but still the old problems remained. At least it has some real short range weapons, but I would probably fill the SRM magazine with smoke rounds for easier retreat, as this 'Mech is going to do that often. Second choice would be the multipurpose inferno for vehicle killing.

Actually, I rate this a bit higher than the 3L version. It looses the Streaks, but in exchange upgrades the small laser to a medium. Not a bad trade off.
A real upgrade would include ferro-fibrous armor or endo steel, and CASE.
I wish there was a 2.25 version, because I still think its not quite average...I gave the Hermes a 2.5, and I don't think this is as good as a Hermes II. Still, it is usable.

I'm not sure if I should congratulate Marik for disarming all his friendly nations in his Republic or curse him because of the uselessness of it except in combined arms units that will never fight mechs.

Once again, cheap costs are the word of the day. Still decent firepower and works well against low tech opponents or in defensive roles such as local militia.
