Overview:
The first model designed by the "Dark Forge" to act as part of the "Archon"'s drone warfare
element, Automated Combat Platform Model No. 363, "Black Mold" is the true first combat
drone for Sovereign Military Acquisitions' "Black" automata warfare project. Reasonably well
armored, reasonably armed, and reasonably fast, it strikes the balance of capabilities.
Easily suited for offence and defense, the onboard drone systems will often decide its own
stance in the field depending on data from pulled other datalinked drone systems and human
operators in field. While not truly autonomous, its decision making programming is
intensive, making it a reliable "battle-buddy" to units it supports, and a effective guard
dog to its Archon control system. Despite its usefulness, the Black Mold is produced very
rarely, to the point where it is unseen throughout the Inner Sphere, and rarely present in
regions where SMA produces its war material. When it is seen, it is often guarding an Archon
far from the frontlines, quickly packed up and moved on once the battle is over.
