Really good upgrade.
The ER-PPC delivers a hard punch at range while the mighty LB20-X gives your opponent a headache. Combined with jump-jets and the standard defensive lasers this mech can fight in a city or in more open terrain (as the LB20-X has some respectable range too).
This Avatar can even jump around and deliver its full damage potential for four turns without suffering from any heat-effects. |

Very nice. The PPC and LBX are very nice for their respective ranges. This is similar to the Avatar A, but it superior in every category - I told you losing those SRMs would help. Like the A, use the PPC to cover your approach, then finish the job with the LBX. If you get the oppurtunity, jump in behind them and hit them with the LBX. The only flaw here is the XL engine, and the heat sinks. I think that this tries too hard to be heat efficient. Dropping heat sinks (and maybe a ton of AC ammo) for standard medium lasers would significantly increase short range firepower with with a minimal increase in heat. |

This 'mech would loose in battle to the standard engine equipped Avatar, and it's weapons loadout isn't even really superior. A waste of resources. |

The LBX20 and PPC pairing works quite well, let the PPC pummel targets from far away and get close enough to use the AC to crit seek the holes made by the PPC. However, the two medium lasers are insufficient backup and the weak armour does not allow much room for error in close quarters. Also the XL engine means that survivability after an armour breach is greatly reduced. |

Useful for up close and personal combat, thanks to the LBX, but not quite suited for long ranged combat. Again, one ER PPC isnt going to keep this mech totally safe, or even reasonably protected. Still, in a built up evironment, this thing can jump in, cut loose, and jump away. Loading at least one ton of cluster ammo for the LBX would let this mech decimate infantry, including elementals and protos. |
