I've never liked this mech, in any variant. However this is the best of the bad. Which isn't saying much. Still, with a good pilot who can manage his heat, this can be deadly.

This only looks above average compared to the other configurations. It has poorly layered firepower, and has no padding for torso critical hits. Both PPC's (over half of it's damage potential) are in the right arm. ALL of it's other weapons are in the other arm.
Plenty of good firepower, if you don't mind a bit of heat, but it's nothing that couldn't be done better on another chassis. In a word: mediocre.

All energy weapon loadout, this variant puts the 6 tons of integral DHS to good use.
The weapons will make you run hot fairly quickly but smart bracket players will stagger the fire well enough to get maximum output with minimal heat.
Truely a mech that takes some skill to use.

A very 'point and shoot' mech, here. None of that ammo stuff to worry about. Cutting loose with everything over and over is kind of rough on your heat sinks, though.
Best thing to do with this mech is to use the weapons at their intended ranges. Yeah, nailing someone with 2 ER PPCs from a hex away is going to do lots of damage, but youre also going to be building up heat pretty fast. Thermal shutdowns in the middle of a fight is what you call a Bad Thing.
Still, for protracted fights away from supply lines, this is probably your best friend. Not the fastest mech on the block, but good for steady assaults or defense.

This is the Gargoyle to use: no ammunition problems, great range, and, by any standards, not too hard on the heat sinks either.
The multitude of lasers means that there will always be weapons in ideal range. With careful cycling, heat should not become problematic.
This is very much on par with the Timberwolf A, a great feat if you compare the other variants! It has more heat problems, but, ultimately, more flexible firepower. It is one of my preferred rides, which I would take over most Timberwolves or Warhawks!
