I wouldn´t call 15 hexes short range in 3025 but its true: With that speed (or lack thereof) your enemy is able to choose its range to you with ease so better put the "Anni" into a terrain that prevents your opponent from staying out of your reach. Another problem related to its speed is the fact that most enemies will hit you as you can´t get much movement modifiers, and with only 12.5 tons of standard armor this is really bad. A third problem are the small ammo bins that will force the mech to fight with only 4 medium lasers soon (not bad as a defensive armament but too little for what you expect from a 100 tonner). Set into the right terrain with some surprise factor this can give an enemy hell but in most circumstances it will have to fight hard to survive.

While it does have a staggering array of firepower, I just cannot rate this design better. The lack of ammunition hurts it most. Many would say the armor, but without the ammo there isn't reason to stay on the field, so you don't need the lasting power of armor.
That said, I have used this mech to great effect in a city. There, hidden in a building and waiting till they got into medium range... well lets just say an Alpha Strike from a 2/4 pilot put a pair of 50 tonners down fast. The second managed to stand back up and run away, but still was a nice ambush. That however is about the only good use of the machine. |

I suggest hiding somewhere before you let the enemies pound on you. Once they are in short range you can let them rip. |

The firepower and heat-dissipation ability of the Annihilator are good, but 2/3 movement and 12.5 tons of armor on a 100 ton mech is just unacceptable. The 2/3 movement means the Annihilator is basically just a barely-movable pillbox and with the lack of armor there is no way it can last in fights with other 100 tonners. Plus this mech just looks stupid as hell too; it looks like reject droid from Star Wars. |

No- this is far too limited. This thing has roughly the same firepower and armor as a standard Archer with a much lower range and half the speed. It can only be used in very resticted spaces, which it then can't escape from. It can't even do effective physical attacks with no hands, jump jets, and near-immobility. Once the ammo is gone (far too soon), this thing can be mopped up by infantry.
