this mech needs some work. the ppcs are nice as is the speed but the linebacker could never take the place of the timber wolf. the wolf is far better at what is does and is still fast enough to keep up with other clan heavies. |

This was a nice idea that just doesn't work. The engine is just too big to give this mech the pod space it needs to compete with other heavies. The same weapons load-out could be placed in a Stormcrow with room to spare- possibly used for a heat sink or AMS. So, the designers added 10 tons to the Stormcrow for the net gain of: .5 tons additional armor. It's not terrible, it just seems silly to rework the Ryoken as a heavy mech. The Linebacker doesn't really fit the Clan tradition of not wasting resources. |

This mech is poor in comparsion to the Timberwolf it is replacing. I have yet to see a Linebacker actually defeat the Timberwolf.
Granted pilot and player skill can make a whole lot of differences, but if just using equal skilled pilots and 2 rookie players, the Timberwolf will be turning this mech into a pile of slag again and again.
Still it isnt that bad and its fast for a heavy. It can pretty much tear Clan / IS mediums apart a new one and do well versus IS heavies of its tonnage.
Just avoid the Clan's signature heavy mech at all cost.

This really pushes the speed you can get out of a heavy to it's limit. I like the PPCs, but would rework the supporting weapons and increase the heat sinks. It's got potential though. |

this mech was supose to replace the timber wolf? yea..... ok. i used every variant up to date. every timber wolf that i took on beat the crap ot of me. nice mech in some cases but to replace the timber wolf with this. thats just plane stupid. |
