Again! A really expensive XL and no money left to put in DHS´s. Buy the DHS´s first and you will see: You don´t need that XL.
On the other side the change to a LB10-X lowers the heatproblems that it got from the ER-PPC´s and gives it a nasty crit seeking ability.
Fluff says: "... Interestingly, the right-torso section comes with a CASE configuration, even though no ammo is stored there. This has led many to speculate that some projectile weapon field kit variant is contemplated." They put CASE in a torso for a eventually field upgrade but put that LB-X ammo in the other torso? If this Marauder would carry an energy weapon instead and this LB10-X would be a part that "projectile weapon field kit variant" i would have understand it. |

Not an upgrade at all. Where the original was a terror that no one wanted to face the "upgrade" creates weaknesses out of whole cloth. XL engine; Check, Lowered Heat capacity: check, Exploding ammo with no CASE; check. What did this design gain from this retrofit? To be honest I don't think it gained anything. Terrible design. |

Changing all the HS to DHS will instantly remove the need for the XL engine. A rather poor upgrade here. Also the CASE puzzles me...

Close, but no banana.
The weapons upgrades are predicable. Twin ER PPCs, yup. LB-10X...yup.
What makes me wonder 'why?' is the lack of DHS for the PPCs. For almost half the tonnage wasted on singles, you could get slightly better performance out of doubles. I suppose the LBX would be good for elemental hunting, but it seems a bit....odd...out of place...something, on this mech. I suppose if I wanted to scare the hell out of someone, I could use this mech. I mean, its an iconic mech, so why not. But this seems like a lackluster upgrage to me. |

Impossibly dumb way to upgrade the Marauder II.
Yes, it has good firepower but because of its multitude of normal heat sinks, it can't vent it all away...
It's still got decent armour and jump though so i can't bash it too much.. but's still rather silly. |
