Overview:
    Kallon designed and licensed the Sherman during the Star League era for smaller armies which
    the Star League prohibited from purchasing front line military technology, or which could
    not afford the high cost of first rate equipment. Although Kallon manufactured some
    Shermans, the majority were manufactured by third party manufacturers in the Magistry of
    Canopus and the Taurian Concordat, who licensed the design and received technical support
    from Kallon. The specific equipment mounted on the design varied among manufacturers,
    although Kallon supplied parts which were difficult to acquire in the Periphery, such as
    computers and gyroscopes.

Capabilities:
    The Sherman was designed with long range combat in mind, and carries a formidable mix of
    autocannons and LRMs. A pair of arm mounted medium provide point defense which is capable of
    tracking enemies which succeed in flanking the relatively slow Sherman. The Sherman's
    ammunition capacity is about average, although its LRM bin will run dry quickly in a long
    fight.

Deployment:
    Significant numbers of Shermans rolled off of the assembly lines before the outbreak of the
    Succession Wars. Production finally rolled to a halt when Kallon ceased providing parts and
    support for the Periphery manufacturers in order to concentrate on manufacturing the
    Rifleman for Inner Sphere powers.
    
    No precise production figures have survived to the present, due to the dispersion of
    manufacturing among various small companies, but the best estimates are that about 500-750
    Shermans were manufactured. As of 3025, perhaps a hundred remain operational in various
    Periphery armies and mercenary regiments in the Inner Sphere.
