For long range firepower I would still prefer the Supernova, but this 'Mech's punch isn't weak. Twelve small lasers give it some kind of exotic look, but I must question the usefullness of this armament, because even with 4/6/4 speed profile you may have trouble using them, so this would act as a city terror or as an elemental bane weapon.
EW suite is a nice addition, but I wonder if the tonnage wouldn't be better used better on armor, which is below average for an assault (okay, clan omnis tend to have ligher armor, but droping some lasers would also work). Watch your heat if you want to use all weapons at once, because there is a lot of ammo on this design. |

Sure its faster than a supernova but its more fragile. Also 3 er large lasers is exactly half the firepower of a Supernova and the SuperNova can fire up to 4 without heat problems.
The increased speed with XL engine is not worth it, especially when you consider that this mech actually mounted LESS armor than the old nova it was supposed to replace.
Also whats the deal with all those ER small lasers ? At 6 range they don't much do much, IS ER MLs double the range while Clan ER MLs are 15 range... so not much help there.
The electronics suite is not that bad though but active probe are better for scouts. ECM and AMS can foil missile boats but your weapons lack enough oomph to make them think twice.
The LRM rack is also an oddity but can act as a crit seeker i supposed. Without artemis, its not going to be accurate at all. |
