Overview:
    The ill-fated Behemoth was not the only assault 'mech built by Amaris for his Rim Worlds
    army.  The Mongol was produced during the last stages of the war with the SLDF as the Amaris
    forces' answer to 'mechs like the Atlas and the King Crab.  It was also able to take on
    newer, more technologically advanced SLDF designs, like the Devastator.

Capabilities:
    Not built to be a speedster by any stretch of the imagination, the Mongol compensated for
    this disadvantage more effectively than did the older King Crab and Atlas designs by
    mounting some of the most effective long range weapon systems.  Paired Gauss rifles and an
    ER PPC enabled the Mongol to lay the Atlas low at long range, where it could not retaliate
    effectively.
    
    
    
    Like most assault 'mechs of its era, it could not operate effectively without constant
    access to a friendly ammunition dump, but as the Amaris forces were operating on the
    defensive almost exclusively by the time the Mongol was deployed for combat, this was a
    small concern.

Deployment:
    Only fifty Mongols were ever built.  Of these, twenty-five never left Terra.  Five of these
    never left the Krupp armament production near Hamburg where they were produced.  The other
    twenty were destroyed in the hard fighting around Unity City.  The five surviving examples
    are presumed to be in the hands of Comstar or the Clans, if they still exist.
