The amount of ammo is pretty low for the LRMs, but otherwise it has some good points (including armor, 2 LB guns and price), but that's all. It changes a lot on the chassis and I'm not sure if Luthien would approve such a radical redesign on a Mauler so soon after it's introduction. I'm not sure is it takes longer to make a mech like this one (not to mention that it's just a MAL-3R from RS Upgrades with some changes) or to review it... |

Twin LB 10-X's are always make a powerful statement, but a 90 tonner also needs decent backup weapons. The LRM's are still good at range, but the ammo has been halved- 8 rounds isn't much for a primary weapon. Downgrading the original ER Large Lasers only makes the ammo dependancy worse.
I would want to trade half a ton of armor to have CASE on the right side as well.
The lower range is offset by the thicker armor and standard engine, just don't take this version away from the supply depot. |
