I´ve never been sure about this one. In a city fight it´s speed isn´t a big problem, it is well armed and it´s cult. But on the other side it´s really thin armored for a close combat Mech and the Medium Lasers in the arms aren´t very usefull in close combat. |

I'm not sure about this one. The hatchet does decent damage, but the armor won't save you when you try to close against anything armed with something better than MLs in terrain that doesn't provide any cover. I would drop the eleventh heat sink for additional armor, if nothing else. |

A mech built for fighting in cities and other urban type areas and works fine there, but I don't think you should see one anyplace else but there. It will tend to be a first choise target anywhere where it can't use the cover of buildings to get in close.
The Cappellans have the Urbanmech and the Lyrans are building Hatchetmen to be their own city mech. |

Slow, poor range, and has cardboard for armour.
Sure it has a hatchet, but that ain't much of a weapon.
Stay in a city with this mech, go any further and you'll likely be shot to bits.
Do yourself a favour, get a PPC to replace the AC and pile on the heat sinks and armour with the weight savings. |

This design is below average because you need more tonnage before the hatchet becomes a useful weapon. As it stands its too light to really hurt people with the axe, and its too slow to get close to anyone.
It'll get shot to pieces long before it closes. Unless you put it in the same lance as the Hunchback...
Which makes it a catch 22 and makes it more likely to survive the battle. |
