Capabilities:
    The Strider SR1-OG was developed specifically to serve as a reconnaissance unit for heavy
    and assault battalions operating against Inner Sphere opponents.  The configuration carries
    a C3 pod to spot for the heavier units operating to its rear, and an ECM suite primarily
    intended to serve as a countermeasure to hostile ECM jamming.  (under level 3 rules, ECMs
    can also function as ECCMs).
    
    
    
    The original Strider configurations were intended to face the Clans, who relied almost
    exclusively on Elementals for infantry support.  Thus, machine guns were excluded from the
    original configurations.  Despite the deplolyment of battle armor, Inner Sphere armies
    continue to deploy large amounts of conventional infantry, and so the Strider G incorporates
    machine guns.
    
    For its anti-armor capability the Strider G relies on a mix of Streak SRMs and medium
    lasers.  Because of the limitations imposed by the single heat sinks the Strider carries,
    the designers decided to forego ER lasers.
