The heat dissipation is good and the TSM may be easily engaged with a few heat sinks turned off. It's easy to overheat with all the ER weapons. Some standard lasers would increase the amount of lasers fired tough. Durable and destructive 'Mech, try to stay out of medium laser reach when you fight against it, or overheat it. |

A modest upgrade. The weapons take advantage of ER tech, and give the mech a bit of a bite at longer ranges. The sword for in close, should a target live that long, just seems to add insult to injury.
What bothers me is the TSM. Its been a while since Ive seen a rule book on it, but I recall that it doesnt kick in until a certain heat level is achieved. Granted you can speed that along by pulling some heatsinks off line. But I just see it as something that can work against the mech as well, forcing the pilot to finagle his heatsinks, keep in close, and force the mech to take at least a movement penalty all at the same time. That seems to be a bit too much work for a concepty thing like the TSMs. |

Not bad. I'm not sure if a 4/6 heavy 'Mech really deserves TSM, but this uses it well enough. It's good for some more speed, and helps with that sword. Plenty of long ranged energy weapons means that this can't be ignored at range like a lot of other hatchet/sword 'Mechs can. The only TSM related complaint here is that it isn't easy to get the TSM into the sweetspot and keep it there.
Otherwise, this is great. Nice armor, standard engine, good firepower, and a high but not completely impossible heat curve. It's a good 'Mech, but the idiosyncrasies of the TSM bring it down a bit, and leave more specialized than it would otherwise be. |
