Thunder Hawk? This? No. Thunder Hawk is a mech that concentrates on destruction of enemy mechs from safe distance and has weapons to do that. This thing is something that stands half way between the old Star League killer and the Berserker. Without an explanation for that. |

Like the previous reviewer. I'm very confused about the ammo amounts. It also lacks a set of weapons of various heat values so you can custom your heat to your sweet spot. Needs more variety to do what its aiming to do.
Takes a name that a cannon design already has... which makes it more confusing. Strictly expensive and unusable in its current form. But, somethings just have to be expensive boondoogles.
Its basically out gunned by a 3050 Awesome at a fraction of the cost. and doesn't justify its expense. |

The weapons on this are well done. The Gauss and PPC are good at long range, with the lasers and Streaks for when someone gets close. Reminds me of the Falconer. Though I'd say that the Streak has too much ammo, and the gauss too little.
Although there are two distinct range brackets, I'd still say that this 'Mech overheats too much. Some 'Mechs are made to overheat; but with 2 tons of explosive ammo, this one isn't. I'd strip something for heat sinks. The heat isn't calculated so that the TSM will make you faster, and this generates so much heat that you'll actually slow down.
I've never seen the point of CASEing XL engined 'Mechs, but I suppose that lets you salvage its remains. I don't get the CT CASE at all; Gauss ammo doesn't explode.
And what does this have to do with a Thunder Hawk? |
