Overview:
    The Panther PNT-10XT was an experimental version of the Panther designed by the famed
    Luthien 'Mech Works engineer Francis Turner in the early 31st century.  Turner realized the
    ground speed of the Panther could be significantly increased at no cost to weapon load-out
    or armor.  The jump jets did have to be removed in order to make room for the larger engine.
    Turner was also able to add a machine gun to the 'mech's loadout.  Unfortunately, the
    PNT-10XT never entered full-scale production due to a shortage of parts for the Omni 175,
    and problems with converting the Panther line on Luthien to produce the new design.  Company
    executives were concerned about their ability to convert the line without inflicting
    irreparable damage to the automated systems running the plant.  Thus, only a few prototypes
    were ever built.

Capabilities:
    The PNT-10XT carried a weapon and armor loadout virtually identital to the 9R model.  The
    only difference is the machine gun the 10XT carries in its right arm.  Although the 'mech
    sacrifices its jump capability, Turner believed the increase in ground speed made up for the
    sacrifice by improving the Panther's ability to support fast reconnaissance forces.  Given
    the long-range role the Panther fills, the loss of jump jets was thought to be a matter of
    small importance.

Deployment:
    The fate of the PNT-10XT is unknown at this time.  It is assumed Kurita still possesses
    these prototypes; several reports have linked these 'mechs to DEST, but these reports remain
    unconfirmed at this time.
