Description: |
Sho-sa Yubari Takuda leads a Draconis Elite Strike Team, one of the Combine`s elite commando units. Well versed in techniques of conventional and unconventional warfare, even MechWarriors respect and fear the prowess of these deadly warriors.
A follower of the ancient code of the samurai, Sho-sa Takuda firmly believes in the superiority of the Combine warrior culture and has always maintained that it would produce a harmonious and prosperous society—if only the realm could be freed from the pressures of foreign aggressors.
But when a JumpShip malfunction catapults Takuda`s team and a company of mercenary MechWarriors beyond known space, he finds long-held beliefs challenged. For the warriors find themselves on a planet inhabited by a primitive alien race, a race enslaved by the descendants of another group of humans—from the Draconis Combine. |

Yikes! again I say yikes! Attack of the bird people. about the only thing redeeming in this book was the LAM. If it had been written as a stand alone Sci-Fi with no ties to Battletech, then maybe. But as a BT novel I have to give it a thumbs down. |

Overall a fairly good book. Had absoloutly nothing to do with the timeline, but it was interesting to see aliens in the BT universe. The ending seemed silly :/ The fight scenes were nothing out of the ordinary, Gives a good description of the control layout of a LAM. |

I give this book rating because it was the first too introduce to me the LAM and this is one of its saving graces but however there is not enough of them to save its plot is just too idealistic for my liking and the ending appalling imho
on the subject of the aliens they do offset the locusts beautifully but still detract from the novel |

I would give this book a 5 on the premise of a stand alone story. However it doesnt really have any place within the battletech universe. While it was a good read and the plot was well written. It just didn't fit in with the rest of the story. |

Eh, not the best book in the universe, but not the worst, either. Some of the work is alright, but for the most part, its not someting I would reccomend to a friend I wanted to keep. |
