One of the things I noticed about the Champion was that it has no hands yet has nothing slotted for the arms.
Under the rules, since it has no lower arm actuators it can flip its arms around. Given that it's supposed to be a high-speed combat type, I figured this to be a glaring omission.
Hence my decision to start tinkering with it a little.

It somehow reminded me of an oversized 3060's Cicada, before the correct image of 'Mech clicked in. I think it's supposed to be one of those armless things. Otherwise I wouldn't consider RAC/2 an upgrade over LB 10-X, although it saves some weight. It also drops any chance of concentrated damage. Perhaps with snub-nose PPC it could work, but that reduces the range.

The RAC gives me range, though. That's something the Champion didn't have before.

It did. 3050 Variant packs a LB10-X, Which means PPC range, which in turn is the same as RAC/2. This thing is not THAT far reaching.
